My attendance at the National Conference on Science Education will enhance my teaching practice of science to ELL (English language learner) students. This will allow me to create partnerships/relationships with other colleagues so that I can connect my students to other practices and/or professionals and organizations that can give them greater exposure to the field of science. This project may also lead to future field trips, mentoring, and other resources to enhance instruction to the benefit of my ELL science students' success. Considering that I work with a large ELL minority population, teaching science to them, the knowledge and resources that I will gain will allow expanding my ability to provide more opportunities for my students to better engage them in science classes, such as environmental science, biology, chemistry, physics, etc. For the reasons stated above, which can be summarized by saying to better serve my students, I want to go to the National Conference on Science Education, in Boston, MA from April 02 to April 05, 2020.

About my class
