There is little doubt that students work best when they can learn in different ways. Students with different learning needs are even more in need of a variety of manipulatives and resources to help them understand and process new material. Working at a new charter school there are no extra resources for students. In order to help students, lesson plans and implantation of the plans should be differentiated, however, the resources needed for this are very expensive. Part of these resources in this project will be used as a guided reading station to help develop these growing learners reading skills and increase their desire to read. My students also would benefit from much more than just a worksheet and workbooks that are provided to them by our school. Hands on tools would really bring math to life and build that passion for math early on.
