There is nothing more exciting to a Kindergartner than using whiteboards to learn! We need 30 double-sided magnetic dry erase boards. Whiteboards are used multiple times a day in my classroom as a tool in all academic areas.
In reading, the magnetic whiteboards will allow my students to use magnetic letters to spell sight words as well as work with the word family words we are learning. They can also write the sight words and word family words with markers, allowing me to quickly assess and assist those who need it.
In writing, students can use the lined side of the marker board to practice writing letters correctly. As the year progresses, students will use the lined side to write dictated sentences and words correctly.
In math, students will use the magnetic side to solve addition and subtraction number sentences using magnetic numbers. They will also use the lined side to practice writing numbers and number sentences correctly.
Whiteboards are such a powerful learning tool in the classroom, and Kindergartners love showing their learning on them!
