Math is great, but crunching numbers can only get you so far. My students must be literate if they have any hopes of achieving there future dreams. I am 3rd-year 8th grade math teacher at a Title I school in Arizona. I love teaching and am extremely excited about beginning my third year investing in the lives of some 100+ students. Teaching has challenged me in ways I never thought imaginable. The challenge is great, but much more so are the rewards. My students, many of who qualify for free or reduced lunches, have unlimited potential. I've seen firsthand how instilling in them a passion for learning has changed them from self-seeking, often awkward, pre-teens to motivated, stimulated, challenge-seeking young men and women. What can be better?
