Kindergartners learn best when they are actively engaged in lessons. In kindergarten we are working to build a strong foundation for reading and math. To accomplish this students need lots of repetition with counting, adding, the alphabet, and sight words. Keeping students engaged is key to their learning. This is easiest to do with fun games and activities. Many of the hands on activities I had were ruined in the August flood. As the school year goes on I am slowly rebuilding the classroom materials to give students the best learning experience I can. However, my students are still in need of fun activities to practice their math and literacy skills. The math games will allow students to independently work on skills (counting, addition). The magnetic white boards will be a great asset to have for math and phonics lessons.
