Elementary students are being challenged today to comprehend and apply more complex math concepts at an earlier age. My students struggle in Science with this during Science. Our curriculum is very good and fit our standards well. However, it does challenge them to perform math applications before they are taught. A class set of calculators would help my students to perform these calculations without frustration. Later, we could use the calculators to prove their work once the concepts are taught. Using a calculator is a 21st Century skill. My students today will need this experience to successful in the future.
