This year we are focusing on alternative seating options and classroom setup. The many different seating options will be used every single day by all different types of learners in my class. The different options give students the ability to use the different seating to be successful throughout the day, and remainder of the year. Since we are in the northeast, my students generally only are able to run around outside for their 20 minute recess about 5 months of the school year. The different options will allow them to move around in a controlled situation, therefore learning more. Giving students a small outlet for their energy, will improve learning throughout the day. It will also allow them the opportunity to make decisions on their seating choices and which will let them be the most successful fifth grader they can be.
