Ta-Nehisi Coates' groundbreaking work, Between the World and Me, is phenomenal and should be read by everyone, especially my genius students. Between the World and Me is a letter to Ta-Nehisi Coates's fifteen-year-old son, Samori. Coates weaves his personal, historical, and intellectual development into his ruminations on how to live in a black body in America. Help me provide each one of my students with their own personal copy of this impactful work. We will be reading, analyzing and writing about this book in class. This will provide my students with valuable practice of deconstructing complex texts for college next year.
