Keeping a kids attention is hard. Technology instantaneously makes a mundane task a bazillion times more interesting. I plan on using iPads to improve reading fluency and comprehension through providing in class access to iReady or Read Naturally. Accessing curriculum such as ALEX, IXL and similarly individualized mathematical supports for struggling learners is how these two iPads will be used. Students want to learn with technology. There are a lot of students who struggle accessing their education and students with disabilities have it harder than most. If I can make learning interactive, fun, entertaining and more an all around pleasurable experience to learn, then more of it will occur organically in my classroom.
