These materials cots will be used to assist the students to sleep during nap time. Nap Time is an important element in a child's growth. Research has shown that naps increase memory and cognitive skills in preschoolers. This allows the students to be calm and to improve their academic focus for the latter portion of the school day. Currently, the thin mats that is in use in the classroom are ripped, damaged, and in great need of being replaced. The award of this grant will allow the students to have elevated cots that are more comfortable, easier to maintain, and easier to keep sanitized to prevent the spread of germs and enhance the students' overall health.
