The Go Talk! augmentative communication device will allow students to communicate even before they can speak. Words are programmed into the device, and the student presses a button with a representative picture make the device speak the word they want to communicate...."more" "help" "want" "done" are some examples. Every student deserves the chance to communicate, and these devices will help them do that. My request includes 4 devices, which will allow multiple students to use the devices, whether in small groups, or individually. They will be able to make requests during snack time, answer questions during story time, and talk to their peers and teachers in ways they wouldn't be able to without the help of augmentative communication. Being a successful communicator with these devices will also help lead towards communicating with words.
