I want to make my math classes very hands-on so all of my students can participate in class and collaborate with each other. Dry eraser boards and a few decent calculators, with which they will share, will allow my math-adverse students to engage in learning math. Actively doing by hand is an important aspect of learning anything new and challenging like algebra. My students will be able to solve problems and show answers quickly for peers and the teacher to check for understanding. With the calculators, my students will learn how to use a semi-scientific calculators, which we do not have any now, to solve algebraic problems that are not possible by hand.
