My students are energetic and active learners. They spend the majority of their day within our classroom setting. We try to move around as much as possible, but they still spend a large part of their day sitting. We started talking about ways to bring more movement in to our learning environment. There are several fitness sites that offer 3-5 minute brain break activities the students could do out in the hallway with the Lenovo Chromebooks. Students would be able to tie this into their reading/language arts classroom by recording and explaining some fitness videos and brain breaks to share with their classmates. The fitness games will be added to the station so that students can participate in fun fitness challenge breaks with friends. The Fitdeck Junior cards pose situations for students to act out and model. The Crazy Legs board game will also have fun fitness tasks to compete in with peers. These games will be a fun way to get more activity while still challenging their brains and working on problem solving skills that are beneficial to a successful learning year.
