My students are great people who have just not learned positive coping strategies in order to succeed inside, or in many cases outside, of the classroom. It is my goal and ambition to provide these students with direct coping strategy instruction, through effective curriculum, involved activities, meaningful lessons, and through other creative avenues. These students also need the opportunity to find out what is at the root of the anger, frustration, and ire that is showing outwardly. Hopefully together we can figure this out. All of the items on this list will go to the enhancement of my students life, not only in school, but in their homes and communities as well. All students should have the tools necessary to deal with the ups and downs of everyday life, but some just don't have the coping skills required to do so. With the help of these materials, I will have a greater repertoire to go about the direct instruction of coping strategies in order to give my students the opportunity to learn along side their peers in the classroom without interruption.
