Stability balls are replacing chairs in classrooms all over the country. The benefits are staggering. Students who use stability balls benefit from improved posture and increased attentiveness in the classroom. Instead of leaning back in a chair and growing tired, students must sit up and be a part of the classroom. Balance is tested. These stability balls will help our students receive more movement in the classroom. Because my students like to "Move It, Move It", they can be used to perform exercises during classroom movement breaks by performing exercises like planks and hamstring curls. In addition, these stability balls will help increase student concentration, focus, and academic performance. Students who need to fidget while they focus have a great outlet! Stability balls provide students a way to “Move It” (exercise) in a controlled manner. Movement stimulates the brain and helps us stay awake and focused! With your help we can increase student academic performance while increasing their fitness levels. My classroom is in need of your support to make this transition away from traditional chairs to stability balls. These stability balls can be used for seats as well as for classroom fitness-related activities.
