When students are engaged in reading their reading skills can't help but grow. Students love to be read to, but the power of the read aloud increases and becomes a shared experience when each student has a copy of the book in their hands. These class sets of novels would ensure that each one of my students could interact with the text as it is read aloud. If each student has their own copy of the text, then they are able to, not only listen to the text, but interact with the text. The more you read, the more you grow! Being able to use class sets of novels will allow the students to see the text at all times. This will lead to richer discussions, searches for text evidence, and a quest for deeper understanding.
