The best way to become a better reader is to read, read, read! First graders love nonfiction topics. This project will help to increase our nonfiction library in the classroom. My students will be able to hear the selections and read them on their own. The notebooks will serve as great response journals and writing tools. My students love to discuss and write about stories they are reading! Not to be left out, Math is an exciting part of our day too. The ten frame and Rekenrek tools will be so useful for modeling and exploring math concepts. Thank you!
