I want my students to enjoy reading like I did. My classroom does not currently have books that are leveled. The school I work at provides us with an anthology to teach from. The anthology has stories that are boring and out dated for the students to read. Having books that are interesting will increase their reading level and their love for reading. Working in a Title I School allows me to work with students who have a wide range of needs. I have one student that is very interested in animals and outer space. I feel like the Nonfiction Library requested will have books for him and many other students that are engaging and interesting. Many of the tests that I give in 3rd grade have students reading fiction texts and quizzing them on what they remember. The Fiction Library requested will motivate students to want to read and I can create inviting activities for them to complete that will allow them to practice their skills needed for testing.
