I teach first graders in a district where innovative, whole brain resources are lacking. I am attempting to encourage curiosity in young minds with the tools they deserve and need. Young children need to absorb and learn from exploration and investigation not just telling. The thought "Teach me and I'll remember. Involve me and I'll learn" is my teaching philosophy. I work for students to want to come to school because there are tools and ways to practice the same skills they continue to need but in 21st Century methods. I believe low-income students deserve just as much as more affluent school districts are able to provide and I need your help to make all of this happen.
