Students will be able to not just see, but experience the causes and effects of erosion by using stream tables. Sure, a book can tell you about science, but students learn best from experience. Students will work in small groups to observe the causes and effects of erosion, simulated on the stream tables. We'll use the stream tables and supplemental texts to understand how erosion impacts our planet. It's through experiential learning that students develop their passion for various topics. These learning opportunities create the informed citizens of the future, who will need to make important decisions about land use and conservation. No amount of reading can make up for seeing, feeling and experiencing scientific concepts.
