Welcome! I'm a 6th-8th grade chorus teacher and I absolutely love my school and my students. I'm lucky to teach in a school in which a third of our student population is involved in choir; I teach over 300 students per day! I am passionate about teaching students not only to sing pre-written music, but inspiring them to write their own music and learn skills that they can transfer outside of the classroom. This is important to me because when they leave my classroom, I want them to be able to create music independently, without a teacher's assistance. While we certainly spend class time singing as a large group, we also break into small groups, which allows students to direct their own learning. I'm looking for resources for the students to use in their small groups to aid them in songwriting: guitars and ukuleles. Please help us achieve our goal of gaining independent musicianship skills!
