Having Scholastic News would enable my students to read about the events happening in the world on their reading level. Students practice their reading skills during their literacy stations. The resources our school can provide are limited. As a teacher, it is hard to reach students without having the resources needed to teach. For example, if we are learning about our community, state and country, we need up-to-date reading materials to provide current events happening around them. Having enough reading materials for 20 students would enable us to read and discuss what we read as a class. Students often times have to share one book among 2-3 classmates during reading groups.
