I teach an amazing multi-age preschool class. My students have various disabilities including speech and developmental delays. Most come from economically disadvantaged homes and are able to attend preschool on scholarships. My students are a family of learners who support and care for each other! The spirit of cooperation and caring in my classroom facilitates learning for all. My younger children are able to accomplish tasks they could not do without the assistance of older children. My older children have the opportunity to serve as mentors and to take leadership roles. Both age groups benefit from increased self-confidence and independence!
