Life Skills program for students with special needs. In our health class we are trying to establish some healthy habits for life. One of them involves doing yoga and mindfulness on a daily basis. The students are extremely interested and excited to participate in the activities that enhance their health and wellness. They are seeing the mental and physical benefits involved in both yoga and mindfulness. We currently do yoga at our desks or on a cold, hard floor. It can be very uncomfortable and inaccessible for some students. A few students have physical limitations that prohibit them from using the hard floor. Yoga mats will greatly enhance our class as students will be able to comfortably and safely move through each pose allowing this activity to be so much more enjoyable and accessible to all students!
