My classroom is found at Pittsburgh Grandview K-5 in the Allentown section of the city of Pittsburgh. I have been teaching at this school for 22 years. Since I have been here so long, I am now a "Grand-Teacher"...teaching children of children I taught before. It is an urban school that faces many challenges, but we do our best to help educate the children we serve in our community. My students are from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn. They love to learn through hands-on projects, student to student collaboration, math and number talks, as well as rigorous discussions around our reading topics.
