My fifth graders are brilliant and willing to learn. They are also children who have a lot of energy. Their spirit at the beginning of the schools year is infectious. They are eager and willing to learn. I do not want to put out that flame with the constant nagging of "be still, stop moving." NO! I want my students to feel free to let their creativity flow. With the wobbly seats, my students with ADHD are not restricted to a chair and a desk. They will have the chance to move while remaining on task. With the bouncy seats, my students will have the ability to feel more relaxed while working and it is a more psychically active option for students. As a reading teacher, I can make or break a students love for reading. By introducing flexible seating to mt fifth graders, I am positive that grabbing a book and a fun new seat will be the highlight of their day.
