The calendar activity will allow students to independently run through calendar time with ease. Setting up children for success like this, gives children a voice and helps them reach the confidence level needed for them to love learning. In addition to this, a listening center, real-aloud CDs, magnetic letters and white boards will help my students expand their vocabulary and reading skills in an interactive and fun way. For example, at the listening center, students could listen to the story being read aloud the first time and then go back and look through the text for specific spelling or sight words. Next, they could go to another center where they use magnetic letters to spell these words. After this, they could spell the words using an expo marker on the white boards to solidify their knowledge.
