Imagine a classroom full of energetic five and six year olds engaged, collaborating, meeting in small groups, attending literacy conferences, exploring a learning center, participating in morning meeting, or visiting our cozy reading nook. I am requesting special comfortable seats for each Kindergarten student to be able to move freely in our play based learning environment. These special seats will allow my students to pick up and move to the learning that best fits their needs. I'm so excited for my students to have personal places to comfortably sit to learn and discover throughout their Kindergarten year. For my students with sensory issues and other special needs the ability to have their own personal space would lessen their anxiety and allow them to be open to the learning that is presented to them. Meeting the developmental need for movement would open the doors to their academic and social success. Thank you for considering our project. I assure you it will benefit 25 wonderful young learners.
