My students love to read and are very motivated to learn Spanish. However, the students who are still struggling with the reading process become easily frustrated when reading independently. For this reason, a listening center with some of their favorite Spanish stories will make the process of learning to read much more enjoyable and fun. I'm requesting a Lakeshore Listening Center and a Storyteller Read-Along Library. With this new listening center set-up, my students will be able to listen and read different tales during workstations, which will improve their fluency, listening skills, as well as phonological awareness. Finally, with this project, we will be aiming to achieve two essential objectives - help to develop bilingual students and foster bilingual readers.
