Throughout the school day, students will be given the choice on where they sit in order to do their best learning. This includes tables, chairs, standing, the floor, pillows, and, with your help, Wobble Chairs and FitPro Balls! Giving them this choice of seating empowers them and encourages their engagement and growth. The Wobble Chairs and FitPro Balls would be used by students during guided reading and math groups, writing conferences, as well as all independent work times. As teachers, we know students need options to best meet their learning needs which is why we are reaching out for help to acquire flexible seating options. Additional seating options will foster student engagement and will help develop a stronger classroom community since they are easily moved by our young learners, Wobble Chairs and FitPro Balls promote collaboration and give students ownership over their learning. Classroom behavior improves with active learning which will increase through these flexible seating options. Children who move more have greater creativity. The choice over alternative seating is one way we can give our students "structured" freedom. Kindergarten and first grade students are meant to learn when their whole body is engaged and active. However, there are less and less opportunities during the day for students to be active and moving. Through these seating options, students can keep their bodies active while engaging in learning! Please help make our classroom a place where the students can learn AND wobble!
