Students will apply the engineering design process to the creation of paper circuits. Basically, they will design and create a greeting card to which they will apply a circuit so that when a part of the card is pressed, an LED light will be activated. Students faces light up when they successfully create their circuit and see their cards light up! This activity reinforces a growth mindset, as students frequently encounter obstacles when making their cards. It also promotes an understanding of electricity and conductivity. When they make and share these cards, they practice their art, science, and communication skills all through this single project.
