I teach a class of 4-7 year old Latino and black students with intellectual disabilities whose needs are currently not being met by their classroom space. They are enthusiastic learners who "listen, are kind friends, and work hard." They love flipping through books, offer high-fives to congratulate their friends, and never get tired of the hokey-pokey. Given the proper working space and learn-by-play materials, my students confidence and self-advocacy will soar.
