I teach in a house that includes special education students, many with ADHD/ADD, Autism, and Learning Disabilities. I teach literacy, so we are always reading and writing, which is hard for this particular population of students! I often notice that my students who would benefit from these wobble chairs are often fidgeting, with their belongings, or even whole body fidgeting in their stationary chairs. It is not uncommon for this population of students to take a walk around the room just to get that movement in so that they can re-focus. Because reading and writing are such important life skills, I see a great need to create an environment that feels conducive to all student's learning needs. The wobble chairs that I am seeking would allow my students who need it most to move and fidget, understanding that this is an important part of who they are, ultimately to approach learning with more focus.
