Flexible seating classrooms are all the new RAGE! Some benefits of flexible seating include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. The "chairs" that I have chosen offer all of the aforementioned! The chair itself is made up of a Yoga-style ball that is attached to wheels and has a lower-back support. They allow the student the flexibility to move around on the chair versus being confined to a hard desk that is completely confined. With your help, I feel that this project will benefit my students' learning and make science feel more comfortable for my students!
