The materials I am requesting for my students will directly impact our culture of learning. Many of the items will allow us to embrace multiple styles of learning through games, hands-on activities, and classroom collaboration. What I really hope to build is a stronger element of student choice that leads to a feeling of ownership and belonging in our community. The flex-seating and learning games will factor into our student-driven workshop periods as well as some extended enrichment blocks, adding choice in workspace and ways to practice the material. When materials such as these have been added to classroom settings, students are often more engaged, focused, and less disruptive to their peers. By donating to this project, you will help us build a strong, collaborative culture where students are given the opportunity to make choices for themselves, take ownership of their learning experience, and feel a sense of pride in their classroom community!
