A child’s mind grows and learns when they can experience science from a hands-on, minds-on, first hand approach. I am a first year 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science teacher. The area I teach in is a rural farm community. It is a high-needs area with very high poverty. The school houses 131 students and of those students, approximately 67.9% are in poverty.
