Our iPad mini will serve as both a daily resource for the teacher and students. I plan to utilize the iPad and speaker by using music to manage classroom instruction. Music is a powerful tool when used strategically throughout the day. I plan to use music to start school, during transitions, and to set the tone by playing songs to energize or calm my students. I also plan to use the iPad to implement Plickers. Plickers is a powerfully simple tool that lets teachers collect real-time formative assessment data without the need for student devices. I will use Plickers for quick checks for understanding to know whether students are understanding big concepts and mastering key skills. Students will utilize the iPad daily to watch and listen to various texts, play various games to strengthen and enhance comprehension, and build fluency. Students will also use the iPads to take Accelerated Reader quizzes that will support reading comprehension. Please consider donating, it would be iMazing! My students will be so excited and motivated to hear that we can implement the use of an iPad into our daily curriculum. I know that all my students will benefit from technology in the classroom. An iPad will give all students in my class, high or low, an opportunity to learn creatively, collaboratively, and be a 21st century learner.
