My students are critical thinkers and risk takers, and they're only 5! My students come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from Latin America, the U.S. to Southeast Asia. They all come from low socio-economic backgrounds but are supported by a tight-knit, loving, and supportive community in Oakland California. Our school is a K-8 school that emphasizes family and community partnerships. We are fortunate to have a school that values the nature of nurturing a passion for learning and cultivating student agency. As a school we believe in developing the whole individual through arts-integration, expeditionary learning, personalization, a focus on social and emotional growth. However, our resources do not allow our students to build and design in the way they should be! That's why I am asking for your help!
