This mission of this project is to establish an after school club open to all students to learn and play Magic:The Gathering card game. The supplies being asked for make it possible for any student to participate regardless of financial need. It also provides an opportunity to be exposed to a game they normally would not have access to. The items will support two groups of twenty students to meet weekly. The cards provide an activity that teaches students how to follow complex rules and procedures, enhance their vocabulary, builds confidence in their computational and algebraic math skills, and strengthens critical thinking and problem solving skills. The T will help organize the materials and ensure that the cards last through many sessions as this club grows and serves more and more students. All of these items will provide a rich and grounded experience that will have a lifelong impact on each student. It will also provide an after school activity that is not sports related which will increase student engagement in extra curricular activities which has a positive effect on their education.
