We all love to read! Do you curl up into your comfortable wooden desk to read! I don't! In this donors choose I am looking for donations to provide choice seating arrangements and large books to incorporate shared reading in our classroom! I am hoping to set up more flexible seating and reading spaces in my classroom. By using these flexible seating options students will feel more safe, comfortable and relaxed as they read. As a teacher I strive to make reading the most desirable activity during the school day. By donating large "big" books, students are able to participate in the reading process. They are able to not only learn basic reading skills but also comprehension as we read through the text together. Having big books helps with such large class sizes. Allowing every student the ability to see the book guarantees a stronger learning experience. The students may also come up and manipulate the book, using highlighters, pointers and post-its. The book easel will allow for me to teach these big books effectively! Lastly, I am looking for small individual readers to build student confidence. These readers are great items to read as teams or individuals. When students are capable of reading their own book the world opens up to them. By providing these readers each student will have access to his/her own copy allowing for full reading success! We thank you in advance for your help!
