My students need a lot of different outlets to understand content. Things such as annotating texts, creating visual cue cards, drawing what vocabulary words look like. As English Language Learners having the ability to visually see the concepts we are working on through annotating and cue cards, helps my students to make concrete connections. Students teaching each other what they are learning through speaking and listening skills, creating projects and sharing those with other students help students to become successful and accountable for their learning. Being able to share their projects gives them a since of ownership and pride in their learning.
