My current 8th grade students missed an entire year of science in 6th grade! Due to this, they learned about Earth and Space science in 7th grade instead of Life Science. In the past, our school has had a tradition of frog dissections in 7th grade, which our students are always extremely excited about. Unfortunately, the circumstances resulted in the frog dissections being cut from their 7th grade curriculum last year(no pun intended). I want to provide my students the science experience they missed out on. This year our science department decided to provide an integrated science curriculum, with all 3 disciplines provided each year. This provides a great opportunity to provide this lab to my 8th graders and connect our analysis to our units on the Theory of Evolution, Genetics, and bio engineering. Will you be our dissection fairy godparent?
