With the students having supply bins and bags for their supplies (bins for Communications and bags for Social Studies) their supplies will all be in one spot and when they come in each day they can grab their bin from the cart or bag depending on the subject and be ready to learn rather then spending time looking for the different materials. In their bins (bags for Social Studies) will be their text book, notebook, folder, and pencil case. Without these bins the students have their supplies all over and too much time everyday is spent finding their things. It is important that the bins are sturdy so that they last being moved around from rotation to rotation each day. I will have O.T. supplies, white boards, markers, and hands on materials in the larger striped bins so the para can grab a bin and work in small groups or 1:1 with the students and have all her supplies in one spot. The pens will give the students something to help them focus and avoid distracting other by banging on the desk or tapping. With these supplies not only will the students learn different organizational skills they can use in their everyday life they will also be set up for success in the classroom. I want my student to understand the importance of staying organized and using their time wisely in order to learn as much as they can each day they have class. Without these supplies the students will come with their materials all over and we will waste instructional time looking for their materials each day. When the students can come to class having ALL their materials in one spot each day they can simply grab them and start learning that days lesson(s).
