Students will learn to collaborate in groups. They will learn to listen to others. Its gives the students a chance to have flexible seating as well. Students will sit on the carpet to hear their peers share their writing and calendar time. The carpet time in a classroom sets up a sharing and modeling time. It also gives students structure. It gives them a time to transition from sitting chairs all the time. The carpet will provide students a place to move to when reading with a partner or independently. It also gives them the chance to move when doing a center with their peers.
