My students need to have a place to gather other than their desks. I want my students to be able to move around and interact during lessons. I do not want my students to just sit in their desks for hours and hours. A classroom rug, seat cushions, and Hokki stools would allow my students to move around more throughout the day and during instruction. A classroom rug would be beneficial for whole group instruction and group discussions. Seat cushions and Hokki stools will be beneficial for small group instruction. I would also incorporate music and dance into my daily transitions to allow my students to move around. Allowing students to move around throughout the school day can increase their readiness to learn and their overall health and wellness. This will also allow my students to get at least sixty minutes of exercise daily.
