Having a play based learning environment will benefit my students greatly. The sand and water table promotes physical development. Large muscle skills develop as students dig, pour, sift, scoop and clean up spills with brush and dustpan. Eye-hand coordination and small muscle control improve as students learn to manipulate sand accessories. My students will also benefit tremendously from block play. They will use problem solving skills, imagination, self-expression, mathematics, and science. Both materials requested will help build social skills as students work together to build and play. Students will take turns , request items appropriately and approach peers to play.
