My goal is to create life long readers in students. The key to doing this is finding books they love and getting them into their hands! We talk about them, share exciting parts, participate in conferences, book clubs and even blog! One of my favorite things to do is place new books, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, The Tiger Rising and The Boys in the Boat, in my classroom covered in brown paper bags- then I do a “book talk” introduction to get my students really excited!! The suspense kills them and gets them excited to grab a copy and READ! We can’t get students excited without new books! Thank you for supporting our love of books!
