Using the iPad my students can actively engage in captivating, hands-on activities to enhance their learning while using a familiar tool. For example, a student working on following directions will be given the following verbal directive, "go to the home screen, look for the app, then tap once to open the app." A student with articulation disorders can use the iPad to practice their target sounds using one of several apps used for articulation. The student can also record themselves for instant visual and auditory feedback of their pronunciations. Lastly, a student with retell or sequencing difficulties can use the iPad to compose a story using a cartoon-based app; something most students will enjoy using. Your generous donation to support my project will improve speech sessions by enabling students to take ownership of their work, seeing their progress with instant visual feedback, as well as building their confidence. They will love speech sessions while learning and experiencing success!
