When I recall school from my childhood, I vividly remember learning through art and through reading. In fact, these two subject areas were my favorite experiences in school and truly motivated me to be a better student. By learning and applying the use of the different mediums for making art and by reading books that inspire and motivate a child to use their creative side and imagination, I am confident that my students will begin to enjoy school again. I will bring back the love of learning by enabling my students to explore art through the artist's eyes and by giving my students the opportunity to acquire the love of reading. My art projects will explore the history of the artist and the requested art supplies will give me more opportunities to explore different mediums. The requested reading packages from Scholastic will allow me to hand out books to my students and most importantly, give them the choice to read a book of their preference. We are currently not able to be in the classroom together and this lack of social interaction can make learning more challenging. My desire is to provide fun and enjoyable opportunities to learn. Everyone loves to read a good story and to do fun art projects! Thank you for this opportunity.
