Third grade is a pivotal year for a young reader. When my students showed a spark of interest in reading, I knew I had to jump on the opportunity, and I needed to get a variety of books in their hands. All of my learners should have the format of book that works best for them available. While my classroom library offers a variety of genres and levels, it doesn't reach those students who are auditory learners. I would love to offer my students a listening center for books on CD. A listening center would benefit all of my class - from the struggling reader, to the auditory learner, to the reader seeking variety.
